Volunteer

As a hospice volunteer, you may make a difference and develop enduring relationships. Numerous volunteers became aware of hospice after using its services firsthand. Before joining the program, new volunteers are asked to wait a year after their loss. We offer a wide range of needs, so you can select the role that best suits your comfort level.

Provided in the comfort of a patient’s home whether that be a private residence, nursing home, assisted living, or personal care home. Services are provided on an intermittent basis according to the plan of care. On call services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.


Examples of what this volunteer might do:
• Visit with patients to provide companionship and life review

• Simple arts and crafts

• Playing or singing soothing, comforting music to patients

• Provide relief to a patient’s family so they can get much needed rest or make a quick trip to the grocery store

• Run errands for patients and families

• Cut and style a patient’s hair

• Provide a supportive presence to patients during the final hours

• Provide spiritual support
